Everything You Need To Know About Your First Microblading Session!
Sparse, thin brows? Looking to cut your morning routine in half? Microblading may be your answer!
Microblading is a serious game-changer - creating convenience, building your confidence, as well as giving you more time to sleep in each morning!
You probably have a TON of questions...
Does it hurt? How long does it last? What is the actual process? That's where we come in!
The procedure itself is only about 10% of the actual experience. What comes in the following 30-45 days is where the true results lie!
So you ask, what is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual "hand" method of permanent cosmetics for your eyebrows, which creates extremely fine, natural-looking hair strokes!
Consultation
Believe it or not, Microblading is considered a true medical service, and any reputable establishment should require you have a consultation. During your consultation, your technician will explain the entire procedure in detail, address any questions or concerns you may have and go over all required paperwork. After you finish your consultation, you're on your way to start your Microblading experience!
Procedure
You've made it! Plan your visit for about 2 hours, maybe even longer depending on your current brow shape and amount of hair. The procedure itself can be a little uncomfortable, especially for those are more sensitive. Pigment is applied with a specific tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair marks in the skin. The pigment is bladed just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis resulting in extremely natural results. A touch-up is typically included 6-10 weeks after your initial treatment.
Aftercare
Now, this is the real important part! Make sure to follow your Aftercare instructions for 14 days after your procedure to improve and prolong the results of your Microblading session. You will want to avoid getting anything on the brows, including water, except for cleansing as directed. You also want to refrain from any water-related activities, hot tubs and saunas for at least 30 days post procedure. Also, you may find that your eyebrows will scab or become slightly dry & itchy following your procedure, DO NOT SCRATCH THEM. You may lightly "tap" them to alleviate the itch. Lastly, avoid using daily skincare products directly on your brows, especially acid or exfoliates, such as Glycolics, Retinols, etc.
What to Expect
At first, your brows will appear more bold than usual over the next few days. After your procedure, your brows may darken during the healing process. This is totally normal and not an indicator of how your brows will heal. Around 7-14 days, you may notice some flaking/shedding of the skin near the brow area. When the skin flakes off, many times the Microblading strokes have disappeared. THIS IS NORMAL. This is because there is still a thick layer of protective skin creating a veil over the pigment. Once you go through a skin regrowth cycle (4-6 weeks) the pigment will typically reappear but will be about 30-50% lighter than it was immediately after the procedure.
